Choose between CreekX Media Server and CreekX Cameras

If you need to stream live video, keep a channel on air or bring IP cameras into one view, the first decision is which product owns the job. CreekX Media Server handles live and scheduled streaming. CreekX Cameras handles camera discovery, live monitoring and recording. They are licensed separately and run on customer-controlled servers.

01Product comparison

Two products for different video operations

Choose according to what your team needs to operate each day. Media Server is built around streams and channels. Cameras is built around camera sites, live views and recordings.

CreekX Media Server

Use Media Server when people need to watch a live event, a scheduled channel or an incoming video feed. It accepts browser, encoder and camera inputs; delivers video through WebRTC, HLS and LL-HLS; and includes recording, viewer access controls, an admin console and REST API access. Its 24/7 Channels capability schedules uploaded videos around live programming. Pro is licensed per server at $99 USD per month or $999 USD per year.

CreekX Cameras

Use Cameras when an operations team needs to find supported ONVIF cameras, connect ONVIF or RTSP feeds, view multiple feeds on a live wall and review recordings from customer-owned storage. Plans also include PTZ controls, playback, clips, snapshots and per-site access. Starter covers up to 16 cameras at $60 USD per camera per year. Business covers 17-100 cameras at $40 USD per camera per year.

02buyer fit

Start with the situation you need to solve

Remote viewers need low-delay live video

Start with Media Server. It supports WebRTC for viewing close to real time, with HLS and LL-HLS available when device reach or a few seconds of delay matters more.

A channel needs to keep playing between live inputs

Start with Media Server and 24/7 Channels. Your team uploads videos, builds a schedule and keeps scheduled programming on air around the clock.

Operators need cameras and recordings in one system

Start with CreekX Cameras. It brings supported ONVIF and RTSP feeds into a browser-based wall, with recording, playback and access organised by site.

The system must be fully offline or carefully sized

Talk to CreekX before installing. Fully offline sites, several-server deployments, more than 50 live streams, thousands of viewers, tenders and installation-led projects use the assisted evaluation route.

03technical brief

Understand how the subscriptions differ

Media Server is licensed per server, while Cameras is licensed per camera. Enterprise arrangements for multiple servers, custom limits, installation or additional support are quoted separately.

  • Media Server Pro costs $99 USD per server per month or $999 USD per server per year. It includes up to 50 concurrent live streams and 10 channels on air.
  • Cameras Starter covers up to 16 cameras at $60 USD per camera per year. Business covers 17-100 cameras at $40 USD per camera per year, including exactly 100 cameras. Enterprise pricing starts at 101 cameras; multi-server deployments are also quoted.
  • The subscriptions are not priced by viewer activity or customer storage usage. Video and recordings use the customer’s infrastructure.
  • CreekX subscriptions renew automatically when the renewal payment is successfully completed. You can cancel your subscription in the CreekX dashboard to stop future renewals. If a subscription is not renewed, updates and email support stop. Existing live streams, channels and camera recording continue, recordings remain playable and stored data are not deleted.
  • After a 30-day grace period, new channels, added cameras and newly enabled features are restricted until the subscription is renewed.
04process

Choose a self-serve trial or an assisted evaluation

Start the Media Server trial

The 14-day trial starts at signup, not at licence activation or installation. It requires no credit card and includes Media Server Pro features, with trial limits of five 24/7 channels, five restream destinations per stream and 500 library videos. It requires internet access during installation and does not include the CreekX Cameras portal. At expiry, the workspace becomes read-only and its content is retained.

Speak to CreekX first

Choose an assisted conversation for CreekX Cameras, a fully offline or air-gapped installation, a large deployment, a tender, or an Enterprise requirement. If you are unsure about protocols, hardware or camera counts, describe what people need to watch and where the system must run; CreekX can identify the details needed for evaluation.

05Scope & limitations

Both products stay under your infrastructure control

Paid licences include an Ubuntu self-install kit, updates released during the subscription and offline upgrade packages. CreekX supplies the fully offline installer and offline licence file directly for sites that cannot connect during installation. CreekX does not send telemetry. Video and operational data remain on the customer’s servers unless the customer enables a documented external storage, backup or other outbound integration.

06First-party evidence

Evaluate the product with documented evidence

CreekX publishes product documentation, API documentation and dated first-party benchmark conditions. On 13 October 2026, CreekX 2026.10.13 ran a 60-second test on Ubuntu 24.04 with 4 vCPU, 8 GB memory, a 100 GB NVMe disk and about 890 Mbit/s upload. Using a 1080p, 25 fps H.264 source at 5 Mbit/s, 500 same-machine WebRTC test viewers all received the stream while CreekX used 37% of the four-core CPU. This was not a public-internet audience test.

07Your next step

Take the next step for your video setup

Choose the Media Server trial if you can evaluate on an internet-connected Ubuntu environment. Contact CreekX first if your priority is IP camera management, a fully offline installation, deployment sizing, procurement documents or Enterprise support.
