FAQ

Questions engineers ask.

What does it run on?
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS on x86-64, as a systemd service with PostgreSQL 16 and Caddy. 4 vCPU / 8 GB to start. ARM64 is not supported yet.
Does it scale horizontally?
The API and video processing roles scale out today. Media delivery runs on one node per installation; edge relays for viewer scale-out are on the roadmap.
What latency should I expect?
Under a second with WebRTC (WHEP); a few seconds with LL-HLS; longer with standard HLS and ABR. Viewers can switch on the watch page.
Is there an API?
Yes. Every action in the UI is a REST call, described in an OpenAPI 3.1 document at /openapi.json on your server. Webhooks are HMAC-SHA256 signed.
Does anything phone home?
No telemetry. Outbound connections are only the ones you configure: platforms, storage, email, and certificate renewal.
What happens after the trial?
Nothing is deleted and nothing goes off air. Add a licence file to keep editing.

Install it, measure it, then decide.
